Five MORE
Things You Can Do
To BOOST Your Business
Here are
five things that you can do with a
little effort that will have
tremendous rewards in the future.
-
Do
charitable work.
Volunteer to do hair at the
senior citizens center. It
makes the seniors feel great,
it's a wonderful community
service, and the children of
the seniors won't forget you
for showing their parents your
kindness. You can leave your
card and ask them to tell
their children, or
grandchildren. It'll make you
feel better knowing you've
done something good.
-
Run a
promotion.
Promotions are easy to do and
can add a lot of dollars to
your ticket. Offer a half
price conditioning treatment
with a regular hair service,
or 20% off a partial highlight
when the client receives a
haircut. Tie services together
to make them appeal.
-
Offer
package deals.
Put together a package of
services for NEW clients that
can be redeemed one or two per
salon visit. Give some sort of
discount as an inducement for
the client to buy the package.
Make sure to include services
clients wouldn't normally buy
for themselves like scalp
massage, clarifying
treatments, deep conditioners,
quick services like shampoo
and styling, partial
highlights, etc. By only
allowing them to redeem one or
two services per visit you
keep them returning to the
salon over and over, hopefully
long enough to make them a
permanent client. Return
visits also give you the
opportunity to sell additional
services and products.
-
Sell
Gift Certificates.
This is a great way to offer
your clients special deals
without it looking cheap. A
nicely done gift certificate
creates a good image for your
salon and it also allows your
client to share their
experience with a friend by
giving it as a gift.
-
Do
demonstrations.
This can be done in the salon
but usually gets a better
response when done in someone
else's space. Clothing and
accessory stores are usually
receptive to allowing you to
have some space in their store
to do demos or consultations
for their customers. Be sure
to hand out your cards and
some incentive for the
customer to visit you in the
salon. This creates a lot of
excitement for the store which
helps them to pull in new
customers too.
