Five Things You Can Do TODAY
To BOOST Business!

Whether times are good or bad we all have slow periods, down time, a slump in business here and there. Here are a few time tested ideas to help you get your business back on track.

  1. Always carry business cards with you.
You never know when you will be in a situation that you will have an opportunity to meet a new client. The best way to make sure they remember you is to give them your card. It's a simple thing to do  and it can add up to a lot of new business over time.

  2. Make a point of meeting new people.
Join a club, go out dancing, participate in a sport, get together for happy hour, anything you do to put yourself in touch with new people creates an opportunity to meet new clients. Remember to keep your card handy and give it to them.

  3. Always ask for their business card.
This is even better than giving your card to them! Why? Because now you are in the driver's seat, you can initiate contact. Give them a call, invite them in for a consultation. Send them an email or a letter offering a special discount. Follow up with this person every week for at least four to five weeks. If they don't respond with an appointment put their card in a "cold lead" file and get back with them in three months or so.

  4. Give great service!
This can not be overstated. Do great work for sure, but in addition pay attention to the little things. Offer your clients coffee or beverages, keep some fresh fruit around the salon in case your clients want a snack, let the manicurist offer a complimentary hand massage after their service, or have your makeup artist offer a complimentary make-up touch-up. Not only does this help make your client feel special, it promotes other services in the salon.

  5. Send a Thank You note.
As soon as the client leaves the salon. I don't care if they've been coming to see you for the past fifty years, everyone wants to be appreciated. You will be astounded by the response, and gratitude, this simple act will generate.
